FIRST KISS in MOON OF THE FALLING LEAVES
 by Diane Davis White

“I will leave soon, Jessica Maxwell. You know this. What we cannot have will always be between us, and there is only so much I can withstand in my need for you."
He re-tied the laces at her throat and drew the robe snuggly around her shoulders as he spoke. Stroked her cheek with a trembling hand. “What I cannot have, I must put out of temptation’s reach.”
“And what of what I want? I want you, be damned to everything else!" Jessica’s voice held the strength of her determination. She stepped close to him, eyes fluttering closed as she lifted her slightly parted lips in invitation.
The hunger in her eyes—in her voice, undid him. “Jessica we cannot…”
“Swift Eagle, there is an aching in my womb that will not be stilled." Her eyes, as she gazed at him, told him she wanted him—desperately wanted him. “I want you to make me yours,” she whispered.
“We could create a child. This is not the time…”
“I would love your child. Our child,” she whispered, arching against him.
Swift Eagle fought to resist the lush taste of her, but his man’s need overtook him so strongly that he shook with it. He closed the slight distance between their lips, devouring her as his tongue slid into the cavern of her mouth.
Her hot, eager response, so full of desire, devoured all reason, consumed him in blood-pounding lust.
His soul yearned to be one with hers. Body throbbing painfully with the need to mate with this woman, his spirit demanded that he complete the ancient ritual.
He pushed her gently back against the wall, tugging the robe away once again.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Author, Diane Davis White lives in the Central Plains and writes about Native Americans because her late husband, Boyd "Wild Horse" White, a mixed blood Chickasaw, inspired her. He always encouraged and supported her writing efforts, especially her poetry, and after he passed she knew he'd want her to write.
Though she grew up in Southern California, Diane feels that her true roots are in Oklahoma where she started out.
Three of her four great-grandfathers participated in the land run of '89 and settled in the Payne County area. Another participated in a later run and settled there as well. They were farmers and merchants, an integral part of the building of the state. Her roots are deep in the red dirt of Oklahoma.
Other works of hers coming up will include tales of the Cimarron area during that era, the plight of the Five Civilized Tribes and more tales of the Plains People.
There are also several Regency Romances in Love Vine, A Regency Series, and a few contemporary mainstream novels planned. She loves to write and loves to hear from her readers.
She can be found on Facebook and MySpace and has a page on Amazon Authors. Or visit her website at www.dianedaviswhite.com. Her blog is www.dianedaviswhite/blogspot.com
Diane also designs and creates her own book covers and videos, and has a website where she displays the videos she has done for other writers at http://dianedaviswhite.com.
Many of her books can be purchased through her website in PDF format at http://www.heartsentbooks.com and are available from Barnes and Noble or Amazon.com in print as well as on Nook and Kindle.

@bn100
Hi!
The first and second book in the series have a bit more spice, and Moon of Hard Winter has a bit more historical info. But I'd like to think they're all good reads. :)

@Cathy
Hi Cathy,
I think you'd like anyone of them... and though it's a series, they all stand alone.

@Katrina Gillian
Hi Katrina,
Thank you for your kind thoughts. I'm doing a bit better now. Moon of the Falling Leaves was four years in the making... and it's one of my best sellers, so I have to agree. :)
