Valentine's Contest!

Valentine’s day is a holiday celebrated on February 14th. It is a day where lovers express their love for each other by sending love notes, the giving of flowers or offering luscious chocolates.  (I prefer chocolates.) It’s a day of Romance.

Romance is the theme of this contest.

To be entered in the drawing, tell me about a memorable first kiss. It doesn’t have to be perfect or wonderful. Tell me about the quick innocent kiss or the messy awkward kiss that was misplaced. Your name will automatically be entered into the hat.

I’ll choose one lucky winner on February 14th!

What will yo win? An Autograph copy of A Twist of Fate.

This event is open to US and Canadian residents.

Entrants names and email addresses will be kept private and confidential. No further solicitations will be made by any participants of the Valentine Contest, and no names or email addresses will be sold for any other use or purpose.

My first kiss was when I was eleven years old. We met in the storage room for band instruments at school. It was quick but sweet.

My first kiss was a nightmare. His braces locked with my cheek in the mix to begin with. And then he pressed his lips so hard to mine that my own teeth cut my lip!
I hope for his sake that experience mellowed his kisses.
For awhile I was pretty turned off to kissing, but then I was only fifteen and of course there are much better kissers.
I'm not turned off to kissing anymore.

Deidre,

Quick and sweet wasn't too bad. The storage room-- I thought that only happened in the movies. (lol)

Mary,
I'm glad you found a someone who knows what he's doing. We'll give your guy a break. He was only 15 and braces are the worse.

Thanks for your stories!

I do not remember my first kiss, so, My first kiss with my now fiance was short and sweet a mere peck but it was the best kiss I have ever had.

From Meloni Cassidy

"My first "special" kiss was when I was in 6th grade. My boyfriend and I went to the festival and rode the Ferris Wheel. He wanted to give me a kiss and I wanted him to, but we were both too chicken to actually get the job done. We got off the ride and walked around for a bit and went into a church to look at the displays. He asked me if I would like him to kiss me because he said he'd wanted to all night long. I told him I would like him to do just that and he replied with a sweet, soft kiss on the lips. Not too short, but not too long. Not quite fireworks material, but loving and innocent. One of those rare, timeless things that happen just once.

A couple of years ago I saw this dude at Wal Mart and he would barely talk to me. Maybe he had forgotten, but I never have."

The first kiss was when I was sixteen and I was so scared and excited at the same time. I knew he was going to kiss me and I kept thinking don't pass out or he'll never ask you out again. (lol) It was a sweet kiss and I didn't fall over. Yes, we did go out on another date. sigh-- I still remember my first love.

A memorable first kiss - We had been dating for a month or so when he made his move. We went to my house after dinner, and entered the front room. At the very moment he was planting his sweet lips on mine, the light was switched on - and there stood my parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins (you name it). I could have died! (And, my family still hasn't let me live that down 16 years after the fact.)

Kenna,

A first love is truly special when sweeten with a first kiss.

Jacki C,
(lol) It sounds like something my family would do---and they would never let me forget it either.

Thanks for sharing.

the first kiss with my now ex was memorable; we had gone to a park in the city in the evening and walked down to the water's edge where there was cement steps and a landing to stand and look out over the water. We were talking and I had this feeling that he might try to kiss me and there was this 'magnetic pull' happening and then the kiss happened. A long kiss if I remember correctly.

My first kiss was on a blind date when I was 19 and it was certainly memorible. We were on a double date and my guy did not put the moves on me until we we in the theater. Merritt was two years older and I supposed was just as inexperienced as I and from a small town and coached by his roommates. He leaned over completely BREATHED in. He was like kissing a vacuum cleaner! And to top things off when we got up to leave he nearly wrenched off my shoulder helping to get my coat on.
Needless to say there was no second date and he made me wonder about the merrits of dating.

The kiss that wasn't (Laughing)
I was in 11th grade, kind of a backward (Shy?) kid. I had a crush on another 11th grader I had known for years. He was so HOT, dark curly hair, bright blue eyes & a sweety. We were both in a school musical. Mr. Gorgeous, I'll call him, was doing make-up on me for the show, he remarked how he liked my eyes & just HAD to kiss me. What did I do? I shivered & froze (Charlie Brown Arrrrgh). He laughed & called another HOTTIE over and said try kissing Mindy (Yep Arrrrgh! again.
Oh well, I've grown out of the shy stage since then ;)
